Let's get the New Year started with some party theme ideas! For this week I am going to highlight a kids' birthday party that could work for either boys or girls for those with an artistic flair. It would be super cool and unique to host an art party for your child!
I got these pictures from Pinterest, so they are not mine and many came from CatchMyParty on Instagram. However, I will share with you how I would make these ideas my own and how I would modify some of them. So hang on tight and let's explore what it would mean to have a work of heART birthday party :)
First off, decor ideas. The possibilities are endless. This is such a cute table set up where you can display the treats, art supplies for the craft, the cupcakes or cake or more. Take a couple of old paint cans and some plastic tablecloths of any color to create this look. A palette can be made for the wall using cardboard and poster paints with the child's name or a cute slogan on it.
Check out the photos below for some other awesome ideas. Aren't the crayon invitations just the cutest? You can buy 12 packs of an 8 count of crayons for around $10 on Amazon. Print some sticker labels for the invite and stick them on the crayons. How cute and clever!
For cake ideas, why not do cupcakes to make an artist's palette? That would be super easy and there are so many ways you can customize them. You can dye the cupcake batter the colors of the rainbow, fill them with sprinkles of that color for pinata type cupcakes, and include sprinkles and candies for the guests to decorate the cupcakes themselves.
Every party is not complete without games and activities. For an art party you can have the guests complete all sorts of projects. If your party will be held outside you could do a paint slip and slide where each guest wears a white shirt and they slide on a plastic sheet filled with rainbow paint colors. Or you could have balloons filled with paint attached to a small canvas that the guests throw darts at. The guests can create shirts, paintings, sand art, paint rocks (kids love this one) and more.
If you decide to do party favors, you can buy mini canvases on Amazon for about $14 for a 12 pack. However, since the guests will more than likely be completing some sort of project they will get to take home, I would opt for a cheaper option. You can buy watercolor paints at the Dollar Tree and include a cute little tag like the one pictured in the gallery below (the one with the bag with the mini easel in it).
An art party is something I would have loved as a kid. Yes, I would still love it today. I absolutely love to create! This party theme would be so fun. I even saw a game where the guests wear blindfolds and complete a self-portrait. How neat and funny! If this is something you think your child would just absolutely love, I would love to make it happen for you this year. Just reach out to me and I will be more than happy to discuss the details with you.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Stay tuned for next week's party theme post. Comment with any suggestions or questions. I would LOVE to hear from you! :)
