Vroom! What little boy (or even some girls for that matter) doesn't love Hot Wheels? They are classics and there are so many great idea for a Hot Wheels themed birthday party. So fasten your seat belt and let's go for a ride of what it would be like for me to plan a Hot Wheels Party! I love the simple decor idea of using a yellow plastic tablecloth, black paper for a road, and small orange traffic cones. You could even get smaller cones and have names on each one for place markers. Provide some cars at their seats and the kids can even have fun playing with their car on the table while waiting for food or an activity. These Hot Wheels cupcakes are super cute and easy. Just ice the cupcakes whatever color you want (red and blue would be the best choices for Hot Wheels) and put Hot Wheels cars on top of them. The kids can wash off the cars and take them home with them (this also doubles as a party favor. Win-win!). The last picture is a game that can be played at the party. You create the race track using a pool noodle cut in half (the big kind, not the small ones from the Dollar Tree) and some Duct Tape. Place the noodles on an incline, perhaps even landing in a small pool of water, give the kids cars and let them race. You could even hand out little trophies for the winners. What an easy and fun game! Some other ideas are pictured above. The balloon stop lights are so cute, would be relatively inexpensive, and are awesome decor. They could also be used for a photo booth opportunity and you could make a car outline using cardboard and have chairs behind it for people to sit in and pretend to drive the car.
Some other game ideas are "Pin the Car on the Race Track" which takes a classic and puts a Hot Wheels spin on it, and Balloon Bumper Cars. Balloon Bumper Cars is where the guests have a untied balloon on the back of a Hot Wheels car and they let go of the balloon inside an arena (perhaps made from a cardboard pizza box or something similar) and watch as the cars bump into each other. The cake idea with the race track in it is just awesome! It could even be part of your child's present (the race track) and you can race the car through the cake. It might be a little difficult to pull off, but it would be so fun and worth it. I would recommended freezing the cake first before cutting it to keep it from falling apart. Ready, Get Set, Go and let's plan a Hot Wheels Birthday Party! If this is something you think your child would just adore for their next birthday contact me and let's get the wheels rolling ;)
